Hello everyone,
I hope you are well and in good health.
I am currently working on an academic project "Parking Barrier Command". For this application, I am going to use the MEMS sensor LIS2DW12.
Checking the sonor specifications, it shows me that it has full user selectable scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g (from what I understand, the unit "g" refers to the sensitivity of the measurements).
I am wondering what is the proper sensitivity value among the previously mentioned scales that I should select in order to have a good system performance ?
In other words, how to know the right value that matches the desired application?
Thank you in advance

"g" usually refers to the gravity acceleration, 9.8m/s^2.
The correct full scale depends upon your application: the 2g FS is the one with highest resolution, in the sense that is capable to sense down to 0.244mg (=2.4mm/s^2) acceleration.
So it depends whether you are interested in sense small acceleration sacrificing the "high g" events (>2g) just managing slow motions of the parting barrier, or you want to be able to detect also 16g events, such as hits on the parking barrier.
