Could someone explain why POWER EARTH and GND (PIN 1) are tied togheter?This not make sense for me.

Have two (2) VNQ600P devices in an application. The second line info on the chip are 990F3 V3 or 9916E V6. The device that has the "V3" operates correctly. The device that has the "V6" operates backwards i.e, channel 1 request enables channel 2. Why?
