Why do you need to apply jump start on CAN datalines?

Because the automotive industry considers that applying the ISO 16750 stanrdards on CAN_H and CAN_L lines is relevant.

It means that the following double event may happen :

  • Wrong battery voltage
  • Shortcircuit between CAN_H and CAN_L datalines and battery line (VBAT)
